Director, Special Programs and Program Development
As Director of Program Development and Program Management at Georgetown University Center for Language Education and Development, Christa Hansen is responsible for the development, design and direction of all custom programs including the English for Heritage Language Speakers (EHLS) Program at Georgetown University and the TEFL Certificate Program. She has worked on standardized test development, curriculum and program design, and evaluation in the field of ESL for over 20 years. Prior to joining Georgetown University, she developed and directed programs and assessments at the University of Oregon and the University of Kansas.
Hansen presents frequently at TESOL, NAFSA and international testing conferences. She has developed and conducted teacher training and assessment training workshops and programs in the U.S., Taiwan, the country of Georgia, and the Gulf. She has conducted needs assessments and program evaluation activities in a wide variety of settings in the U.S. and abroad. Her publications include articles on testing issues in the Cambridge Applied Linguistics Series, Language Testing, and NAFSA publications. She is a past Chair of NAFSA's Recruitment, Admissions, and Preparation Knowledge Community. She is a site reviewer, Commissioner and 2014-15 Chair for the Commission for English Language Program Accreditation (CEA).
